The short version: Big Wake does not collect any information about you. Nothing you do in the game is sent anywhere.
To remember your progress, the game saves it in your web browser on this device, in the browser’s “local storage”, from the moment you press Play (just opening the page saves nothing). It stays on this device and is never sent to us or to anyone else. This is everything it saves:
The game also checks which graphics chip the computer has, to choose the picture quality. That check happens on your device only, and the answer is not saved or sent anywhere.
To send the game to your browser, the server that hosts this website receives the details every website receives: your IP address, the kind of browser and device, and the time. The hosting company may keep these in its logs for a short time, for security and to keep the site running. The game adds nothing to that, and we do not use those logs to follow anyone.
If you play on another website or in an app store, that site runs its own page around the game, for example its own adverts or sign-in, and its own privacy policy covers what it does.
“Download a copy” on the skipper’s card (H) makes a file of your progress, and your browser saves it wherever you choose. Nothing is uploaded. “Load a copy” reads a file you pick, on your device.
In the game, open Privacy (from the title screen or the skipper’s card) and press “Delete everything saved”. Or use “Start over” on the skipper’s card for just the game in progress, or clear this website’s data in your browser’s settings. Once deleted, it is gone for good.
Big Wake is made to suit players of all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, so there is nothing a parent needs to approve. The saves listed above stay on the device the game is played on.
If a future version ever changes any of this, this page will be updated first, with a new date.
